WORKERS' COMPENSATION LAW

The California System

ALERT!!!!

With the nearly unanimous passage of SB 899, much of the California Workers' Compensation system has been completely changed. Many of these changes apply regardless of the date of injury! At the present time there are many different interpretations of what the law is, and these differences will not be resolved until the new statutes are interpreted by the courts through the appeals process. The one thing that is certain is that benefits have been slashed.

    DISCLAIMERS:
  • Making a false or fraudulent workers' compensation claim is a felony subject to up to 5 years in prison or a fine of up to $50,000.00 or double the value of the fraud, whichever is greater, or by both imprisonment and fine!
  • Making a false statement for the purposes of obtaining or denyingWorkers' Compensation benefits is also a felony. (This applies to employers as well as claimants).
